Florida Awards Medicaid MCO Contracts To Three Additional Payers 

The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration awarded Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) contracts to three additional payers on July 18, 2024. Following an initial contract denial, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare and Molina were each awarded Florida Medicaid contracts. 

During April 2024, the state awarded six-year MCO contracts to Florida Community Care (Independent Living Systems), Humana, Simply Healthcare Plans (Elevance), Community Care Plan (Broward Health and Memorial Healthcare), and Sunshine State Health Plan (Centene). 

Aetna, Molina, UnitedHealth and AmeriHealth Caritas held existing MCO contracts with Florida Medicaid. They were not originally chosen for new contracts. The current contracts are set to . . .
