New York-Based Labor Management Healthcare Fund Switches Health Insurance Carrier To Univera From Highmark
The Labor Management Healthcare Fund (LMHF), which is the largest health insurance purchaser in Western New York, reached an agreement to move its employee health plan to Univera Healthcare. It had contracted with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield for the last 20 years.
LMHF provides health care to about 26,000 public employees, including employees in Erie County, New York state government, and school district employees. The Univera plan was selected, in part, based on wellness services it offered, according to LMHF board of trustees Chairman John Greenan.
