Gary Lang brings more than 40 years of experience in health care leadership and administration to the OPEN MINDS team. Mr. Lang has the proven ability to assess potential markets and develop new clinical programs and new program contracts. Prior to join OPEN MINDS, Mr. Lang was Chief Executive Officer of Oasis Health International, a company focused on the creation of de novo hospitals and ambulatory clinics. His work with the company included hospital development and management in Egypt, Iraq, Nigeria, Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad, Libya, Kenya, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Mr. Lang previously served as Chief Executive Officer of the Heart Institute of the Caribbean, the primary center for cardiovascular health care in the West Indies. In that role, he established systems to improve operational efficiency and outcomes for the institute’s outpatient and inpatient services and managed the procurement for and implementation of new hospital information systems. He also completed market, operational, and financial assessments for development of a primary care telehealth platform intended to expand the referral base the specialty cardiac services. He was responsible for selecting multiple platform vendors, for marketing strategy developments, and for managing the front end website development.

Mr. Lang also served as Chief Executive Officer for Mohamed Omar Bin Haider Holdings’ Healthcare Division. In that role, he set up integrated health care networks across the UAE. His role included crafting strategic positioning for each hospitals’ service lines, recruiting and structuring the role of key executives; establishing capital and operating budgets, developing final architectural designs for hospitals, and securing funding.

Prior to his work with these health care systems, Mr. Lang was Group Vice President, Strategic Marketing & Communications for Premier, Inc., a technology support platform for 205 owner organizations and their 1,500 affiliate hospitals. The platform included business intelligence functions for service line management. Before joining Premier, Mr. Lang served as President of Behavioral Health Partners/Strategic Decision Systems – a technology company with systems supporting managed care functionality and clinical delivery management.

In addition, Mr. Lang was the Vice President Of Business Development for Tenet Health Corporation and has served as chief executive officer of both general acute care and specialty behavioral health hospitals.

Mr. Lang received his master of science in hospital and health and administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the Mississippi State University.
