The Children’s Partnership Awards $8 Million To 8 California High Schools For Pilot Peer-To-Peer Youth Mental Health Program
The Children’s Partnership (TCP) selected eight California public high schools as grantees to pilot the Peer-to-Peer Youth Mental Health High School Pilot Demonstration. TCP, in partnership with the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) awarded $8 million in grants to the schools. The pilot will test a youth-driven approach to mental health and well-being. The goal is to provide culturally responsive, affirming care that often does not exist within traditional clinical models. The peer support workers will not duplicate or replace the roles of therapists, case managers or other care team members.
