OpenNotes & Abridge Partner To Research, Evaluate AI-Generated Visit Summaries
OpenNotes, a not-for-profit health transparency research lab based at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) partnered with Abridge, which provides a generative artificial intelligence (AI) platform for clinical documentation. OpenNotes is leading a study to evaluate Abridge’s AI-generated patient visit summaries.
The partnership is intended to enhance notes and visit summaries by capturing conversations between consumers and clinical professionals. This partnership is part of BIDMC’s new OpenNotes Lab, an initiative fostering collaboration between patients and clinicians in developing AI-powered tools designed to advance transparency and digital health equity.
