On April 1, 2024, the National Institue on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) published this surveillance report #121 regarding national, state, and regional trends for apparent per-capita alcohol consumption from 1977 to 2022. Findings are based on alcoholic beverage sales data collected by the AlcoholEpidemiologic Data System (AEDS) from the States or from the National Alcohol Beverage ControlAssociation and from various reports produced by beverage industry sources. Population data from theU.S. Census Bureau are used as denominators to calculate per capita rates . . .
