Lawrence Medical Center In Alabama To Adopt ‘Outpatient-Only’ Model
Lawrence Medical Center in rural Moulton, Alabama, and the Huntsville Hospital Health System (HH Health) announced a partnership in which LMC will close its emergency department and adopt an outpatient-only model. The LMC Board made the decision after studying challenges and financial pressures facing the 98-bed facility constructed in 1953. Inpatient and emergency department services will likely end by mid-2025. Current LMC employees affected by the closure will be offered opportunities elsewhere in the HH Health System.
