The 2011 Annual Statistical Report on Pennsylvania‘s state prison system is introduced by Secretary John E. Wetzel, and was completed by The Bureau of Planning, Research and Statistics. This report provides a statistical overview of inmates admitted to, incarcerated in, and released from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections in Calendar Year 2011.  Not only will this data aid us in achieving our reform goals, but this information will also help us to effectively manage the Department’s more than 15,000 employees, 27 prisons, 53 community corrections centers and facilities, and more than 51,000 inmates . . .
