Huntsman Mental Health Institute Opens Utah’s First Comprehensive Crisis Care Center
Huntsman Mental Health Institute opened Utah's first mental health crisis care center, and started providing services on March 31, 2025. The facility, located in South Salt Lake, operates in partnership with state and county officials, the University of Utah, Huntsman Mental Health Foundation, and community donors. The center is projected to serve over 9,600 adults age 18 and older annually. Crisis stabilization is provided regardless of ability to pay. Higher levels of care are billed to the individual’s health insurance plan.
