Viatris To Pay Up To $335 Million In Opioid Settlement
Viatris Inc. reached a nationwide settlement framework in which it will pay up to $335 million over a nine-year period to resolve opioid-related claims by states, local governments, and Tribes against the company and certain of its subsidiaries. The payments are intended to be used to support local efforts to address opioid-related issues. The company stated that under the framework, depending on the level of participation in the settlement, annual payments over nine years are estimated to be between $27.5 million and $40 million each.
