California Awards $3.3 Billion In Round-One Bond Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program Funding For 124 Projects

The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) released awards for $3.3 billion in Bond Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program (BHCIP) Round 1: Launch Ready funds. These awards create 5,077 new residential/inpatient treatment beds for mental health and substance use disorders (SUDs) and 21,882 new outpatient facilities. These competitive grants for 124 projects are intended to transform behavioral health services for California residents by expanding service capacity and addressing gaps in the behavioral health continuum of care.
