Virginia Medicaid Launches Cardinal Care Health Plans & Member Options 

The Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) launched the new Cardinal Care Managed Care program. Beginning July 1, 2025, five health plans went live to serve Virginians eligible for Medicaid: Aetna Better Health of Virginia, Anthem HealthKeepers Plus, Humana Healthy Horizons of Virginia (new), Sentara Health Plans, and UnitedHealthcare of the Mid-Atlantic, Inc.
