The University of New Mexico Hospital Launches CAMINOS Addiction Medicine Consult Service
The University of New Mexico Health Sciences announced the launch of the University of New Mexico Hospital’s Coordinating Addiction Medicine with Inpatient and Outpatient Services (CAMINOS) program. The goal is to connect patients with treatment during their hospital stay and help them transition into ongoing care once they leave.
Before CAMINOS, patients with addictions often left the hospital with little more than a referral sheet, the announcement stated.
