SUPPORT Reauthorization Act Signed To Maintain Strengthen Federal Investments In Behavioral Health
The federal Substance Use Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities (SUPPORT) Reauthorization Act was signed on December 1, 2025, to renew federal funding for addiction treatment programs. The legislation, House Resolution (HR) 2483 of 2025, reauthorizes local prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts for fiscal years (FYs) 2026 through 2030.
The SUPPORT Act was originally enacted in 2018. It provided funding for services to treat people with addiction disorders and mental health conditions. Some provisions were permanent, but others were temporary, expiring in September 2023.
