Shasta Family YMCA Opens Shasta STRIDE Daily Program For Adults With Developmental Disabilities In Redding, California

The Shasta Family YMCA in Redding, California, announced the start of Shasta STRIDE, a daily program for adults with developmental disabilities. The program had an anticipated date of January 19, 2026.

The Shasta Stride program is dedicated to supporting adults (19 years and older) with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) by fostering independence, life skills, and community building through structured activities and support. It will have a designated space in the Y South Building.

Activities are centered around life skills, swimming, health and fitness, social engagement, and academics, such as:

Math skills cooking, grocery shopping, and budgets.
