COCC Receives $1.3 Million Federal Grant For Behavioral Health Workforce Training
Central Oregon Community College (COCC) announced it received a four-year, $1,335,113 grant from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The funds will provide scholarships and paid field placements in behavioral health settings for up to 18 students per year. The scholarships are for enrolled COCC students pursuing a certificate or associate degree to become a certified alcohol and drug counselor or a qualified mental health associate. The selected students receive scholarships worth $4,000 and living stipends worth $6,000 to complete a practicum.
