HHS Requests Comment On Federal Addiction Treatment Policies, Seeks Examples Of Evidence-Based Programs For Improving Outcomes
On June 10, 2026, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking input on federal policies intended to address substance use disorders (SUDs) and mental illness. Responses are due by July 5, 2026.
This RFI is designed to support the implementation of the Administration’s “Great American Recovery Initiative” created by the January 2026 Executive Order 14379. The RFI requests responses, including supporting data, to several questions including:
