Abbott & National Association Of Community Health Centers Launch Nationwide ‘Food For Health’ Initiative

Abbott and the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) announced a multiyear Food Is Medicine initiative called the NACHC and Abbott Food for Health Initiative. The program is intended to help make nutrition services and healthy food part of primary care at Community Health Centers (CHCs) across the United States.

"Food Is Medicine" is an approach that incorporates nutrition support and access to healthy food into health care. Nutrition can contribute to disease prevention and management, particularly for chronic conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
