Arkansas Awarded $54 Million In Second Round Of Federal Rural Health Care Funding
The Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) was awarded $54.6 million through the federal Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) to recruit, train, and retain the state’s rural health care workforce, expand maternal health services, and address chronic disease.
The funding will support 54 projects across rural Arkansas. Of the total, $27.4 million will fund 30 projects focused on community-based nutrition, physical activity, preventive care, and chronic disease management.
