California DDS Porterville Developmental Center Program Improvement Plan
After notification on January 4, 2014, that the California Department of Public Health (DPH), intended to terminate Medicaid certification for the Fairview Developmental Center and Porterville Developmental Center because the facilities failed to correct survey deficiencies, on January 15, 2014, the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) agreed to hire an independent expert to oversee program improvement activities at the two facilities.
