Missouri Report Insurance Coverage for Autism Treatment & Applied Behavior Analysis

Missouri enacted legislation requiring group health plans issued on or after January 1, 2011, to cover the costs of ABA for individuals diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) up to age 18, up to a maximum annual cost of $40,000 for applied behavior analysis (ABA), to be adjusted annually. This report, released by the Missouri Department of Insurance in February 2014, discusses the third year and overall impact of the 2011 autism insurance mandate.
