Foster Higgins Releases New Behavioral Health Benefits Survey

OPEN MINDS The Behavioral Health & Social Service Industry Analyst Industry News A. Foster Higgins Company, Inc. has released the results of a new employer survey of mental health and chemical dependency benefits, which was summarized in the January 15, 1991 issue of Medical Benefits. The Foster Higgins survey found that: 52% of survey participants responding to questions about costs said they were unable to determine expenditures for mental health and chemical dependency benefits. 76% of small employers (fewer than 500 employees) reported being unable to determine behavioral health costs, while only 13% of employers with more than 40,000 . . .
