Oregon Health Plan Takes Effect
OPEN MINDS The Behavioral Health & Social Service Industry Analyst Industry News The Oregon Health Plan, Oregon's health reform package passed in 1989, goes into effect on February 1, 1994. The plan is being phased in over the next three years. The legislature funded the plan for those persons at 100% of poverty or below, appropriating $65 million for the program through June of 1995. Total expenditures for the health plan are expected to be $173 million. The additional funding required will come through federal Medicaid funds.
