Texas HHSC in Talks with Superior HealthPlan Network to Provide Statewide Health Care for Foster Care System

OPEN MINDS, The Behavioral Health & Social Service Industry Analyst Industry News On February 2, 2007, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) announced that it was in negotiations with Superior HealthPlan Network (Superior), a subsidiary of Centene Corporation, to provide a comprehensive health care plan that includes a medical passport and medical home for children in or exiting foster care. The tentative award to the request for proposal (RFP 529-06-0293) is contingent on the successful negotiation and execution of a contract. Once a contract is signed, transition activities, including a readiness review, will begin in preparation . . .
