Magellan’s Joint Venture In Rhode Island Loses Its UR License

OPEN MINDS, The Behavioral Health & Social Service Industry Analyst Industry News Magellan Behavioral Health Inc. and the Providence Center in Rhode Island entered into a joint venture in 1997, forming Continuum Behavioral Care, L.L.C. (CBC). Recently, however, CBC lost its Utilization Review (UR) license, and the partnership was dissolved. CBC was a managed behavioral health care entity serving BlueChip, the health care maintenance organization for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island.
