Louisiana DHH Application For Medicaid Balancing Incentive Payment Program

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) submitted its application for the Medicaid Balancing Incentive Payment (BIP) program in February 2013; the federal Medicaid program granted approval in March 2013. DHH is in the process of transforming how it provides Medicaid long- term services and supports (LTSS). A key activity will shift LTSS from fee-for-service reimbursement to managed care in the near future.
