Maryland Senate Bill 198 Of 2014 Regarding Medical Assistance Program – Telemedicine
This legislation was signed into law on April 14, 2014. It directs the Maryland Medical Assistance Program to reimburse provider organizations for services provided via telemedicine technologies at the same rate as for services provided during in-person patient visits. The new law authorizes the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) to determine the types of providers eligible for telemedicine reimbursement.
