On March 1, 2013, the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) launched a 10-month pilot project that will enroll individuals served on the Home and Community Based Services Intellectually/Developmentally Disabled (I/DD) program with full participation in the KanCare Medicaid managed care system. The pilot project is intended to help the state, its new KanCare managed care organizations (MCOs), and waiver service provider organizations gain experience integrating I/DD into the KanCare system.
