Ohio House Bill 486, Mid-Biennium Review (MBR) For Fiscal Year 2015-2016
On June 16, 2014, the Ohio Governor John Kasich signed legislation enacting criteria for addiction recovery housing that define the service and the state expectations for contracted provider organizations. The new criteria were included in House Bill (HB) 483 the Mid-Biennium Review (MBR) appropriations bill, which also provided $5 million in funding for about 400 recovery housing beds. HB 483 defines recovery housing as “…housing for individuals recovering from drug addiction that provides an alcohol and drug-free living environment, peer support, assistance with obtaining drug addiction services, and other drug addiction recovery assistance . . .
