Court Order Approving Monitor’’s Community Compliance Review For The Settlement Agreement In Jensen et al v. Minnesota Department of Human Services, et al.

The order was issued on September 3, 2014 by a federal judge overseeing Minnesota’s compliance with the provisions of its 2011 settlement agreement in a class action lawsuit, Jensen v. Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS), filed by residents of state-run facilities for individuals with developmental disabilities. The agreement called for DHS to reduce the use of physical restraints with facility residents, and to help residents move from institutional settings to less restrictive placements integrated in the community.
