Plan For Improving the Behavioral Health of New Hampshire’s Children

On March 15, 2013, the New Hampshire Children’s Behavioral Health Collaborative released a plan for creating a children’s system of care to replace New Hampshire’s fragmented system for helping children with mental health and addiction disorders access treatment services. The plan recommends strategies for getting families more involved and better integrating current services. About 10,000 children and youth are served annually through the state’s mental health system. About 43% of children receiving mental health services have a co-occuring addiction disorder.
