The Direct Care Workforce: An Integral Part Of Long-Term Services And Supports

In April 2013, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services released an ASPE Issue Brief addressing the direct care workforce. The Brief highlight basic facts about these workers, summarizing key findings from two surveys of the direct care workforce: 1)the National Home Health Aide Survey; and 2) the National Nursing Assistant Survey. Neither of these surveys includes personal care aides working outside of a home health or hospice agency or a nursing home.
