The civil lawsuit was filed in a Florida circuit court against a Florida hospital and nursing home for failing to transmit a patientÂ’s Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) orders which resulted in aggressive care in violation of the patientÂ’s wishes. The lawsuit seeks unspecified financial damages from the hospital, Lakeland Regional Medical Center Inc., and the nursing home, Oakbridge Healthcare Center for negligence, emotional distress, breach of fiduciary duty, elder abuse, and violation of rights. The lawsuit also seeks injunctive relief to force the hospital and nursing home to train and educate staff on patient rights . . .
