CMCS Informational Bulletin Long-Term Services & Supports Delivered Through Medicaid Managed Care Programs Guidance

The Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services’ guidance on waivers for managed long-term services and supports (MLTSS) outlines the 10 key elements of MLTSS programs. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) intends for states to design their Medicaid MLTSS programs using these elements in order to ensure successful programs, and will evaluate existing programs using these requirements. The guidelines were developed from what CMS has learned from states, stakeholders, and advocates in terms of best practices for establishing and implementing MLTSS programs.
