2013 Texas Senate Bill 58, Behavioral and Physical Health Services Integration into Medicaid Managed Care

Texas Senate Bill 58 charges the Committee on Health and Human Services with integrating behavioral health and physical health services into the Medicaid managed care program. The commission will also contract with a managed care organization to develop a network of private and public providers of behavioral health services and ensure consumers with serious mental illness have access to a comprehensive array of services. The Department of State Health Services and the commission will establish a Behavioral Health Integration Advisory Committee, which meets to address the planning and development needs of that behavioral health services network.
