The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) is in the process of seeking a Medicaid 1115 waiver to enroll children and youth in foster care or receiving adoption assistance, and justice involved youth placed in community residential care into a specialized Medicaid care management organization (CMO) that will provide all needed health care services. Currently children in foster care, adoption assistance, or juvenile justice placements are enrolled in fee-for-service Medicaid or through PeachCare for Kids, which is Georgias Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP) plan.
