Maine LD 171 Of 2013 Allowing Personal Importation Of Prescription Drugs From International Mail Order Prescription Pharmacies

On October 9, 2013, a new Maine law went into effect and made Maine the first state in the U.S. to officially allow residents to directly import cheaper prescription drugs from pharmacies licensed in Canada, Britain, Northern Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand. The foreign pharmacies, if licensed in their home countries, will not be required to obtain licensing to operate in Maine or the United States.
