National Partnership to Improve Dementia Care, CMS Presentation National Provider Call July 2013

The presentation was given by Alice Bonner, Ph.D., RN, of the Northeast Division Survey & Certification Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The presentation accompanied a National Provider Call on July 10, 2013 about the National Partnership to Improve Dementia Care. Dr. Bonner reported on national and regional changes in the prevalence of antipsychotic use among long-stay nursing home residents. The presentation also featured new outreach strategies, the status of collaboration with the Nursing Home Quality Care Collaborative (NHQCC) and Advancing Excellence Collaborative; updates to surveyor guidance, and five case studies.
