The AFCARS Report, Preliminary FY 2012 Estimates As Of July 2013

This annual report from the federal Administration for Children and Families is based on data reported to the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS) through July 12, 2013. The baseline is a point-in-time count of children in foster care as of September 30, 2012. The analysis includes the number of children who entered and left foster care during the fiscal year, the placements children exited to, and the length of stay in foster care for children of various ages.
