U.S. Preventive Services Task Force Final Recommendation Statement: Primary Care Interventions to Prevent Tobacco Use in Children & Adolescents

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force’s statement recommends that primary care clinicians provide interventions, including education or brief counseling, to prevent initiation of tobacco use among school-age children and adolescents. It estimates that interventions could have a moderate net benefit on children and adolescents’ tobacco use.
