Medicaid & CHIP FAQs: Section 1115 Demonstrations
In April 2013, the Department of Health and Human Services' (DHHS) Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services updated a report on the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about section 1115 demonstration waivers. Section 1115 is a waiver filled out by applicants for Medicaid and CHIP which gives state governments authority and necessary intelligence to design and improve their respective Medicaid and CHIP services.
