New York Legislation To Restore Full 2014 Funding To Office Of Persons With Developmental Disabilities

On September 27, 2013, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo signed Bill No. A06692C into law, appropriating $90 million to the state’s Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), restoring full funding to the previous year’s level of $4.78 billion. OPWDD can use the new appropriation to reimburse or advance localities and non-profit provider organizations for expenditures made during local fiscal periods commencing January 1, 2013, April 1, 2013, or July 1, 2013, and for advances for the three month period beginning January 1, 2014.
