On October 29, 2013, the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco published a Petition for Writ of Mandate/Prohibition/Certification to compel the California Department of Public Health and its director and deputy director to comply with their statutory obligations, including: 1) complete investigations of complaints lodged against skilled nursing homes; 2) provide a person who lodges a complaint against such facilities with documentations; and 3) hold any such informal conference in a timely manner.
