California Department Of Managed Health Care Accusation Against Anthem Blue Cross Regarding Denials Of Speech & Occupational Therapy

The California Department of Managed Health Care’s (DMHC’s) accusation against Anthem Blue Cross alleges that the organization improperly denied speech or occupational therapy services to 24 of its plan enrollees since January 2010. This accusation also alleges that Anthem Blue Cross violated a number of health and safety codes which require health plans to cover medically necessary speech and occupational therapy. The DMHC seeks for Anthem Blue Cross to identify and reimburse any enrollees who were denied these services.
