January 4, 2008 This bulletin issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services division outlined the steps needed to integrate efforts by service providers, managed care organizations, local education agencies, and school assistance programs for those school-age children in need of rehabilitation or hospitalization. It recommends the creation of letters of agreement between the aforementioned groups to define the roles and responsibilities of each and that these groups should meet to determine the best course of action for each child, including a discharge plan . . .
