LB603 – Adopt the Behavioral Health Workforce Act and Provide Funding
January 21, 2009 LB603 combines five safe-haven-related bills. The provisions are estimated to cost $16 million for 2009-2011, which would provide for the following: $6 million will expand the Kids Connection health insurance program $8 million will create a hot line, family navigator program, and services for adoptive parents and guardians of former state wards $1.5 million would increase behavioral health services for children, and create a Children's Behavioral Health Oversight Committee to monitor implementation of the bill and other child welfare and juvenile justice behavioral health initiatives $3 million would be used to create . . .
