Connecticut Committee Bill 301
January 22, 2009 Connecticut Committee Bill 301 was introduced by State Senator Martin Looney and State Representative Christopher Donovan on January 22, 2009. The bill would require private health insurance companies to cover the diagnosis, testing, and treatment of ASD. Coverage must be provided for treatments prescribed, provided, or ordered by a licensed physician or licensed psychologist who deems the care medically necessary. Covered treatments include: diagnosis, habilitative or rehabilitative care, pharmacy care, psychiatric care, psychological care, therapeutic care, counseling services, and Applied Behavioral Analysis. The bill only applies to fully-funded health plans governed by state law . . .
