February 9, 2009 This document presents the findings of a legislative review conducted by the Vermont Office of the State Auditor at the request of state legislators. The review sought to determine whether or not estimates of state spending on support services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a January 2008 report to the Legislature were accurate. The review found that the overall estimate of $57 million was reasonable, though estimates of spending per person and the number of individuals served were substantially different than initially reported . . .
