Overview Report of Allegheny County Jail Collaborative Evaluation Findings

November 14, 2007 The study involved a group of 300 Allegheny County Jail (ACJ) male inmates who agreed to participate; half were Caucasian and half were African-American. Prior to their release, the study group participants received drug and alcohol treatment, GED preparation, computer literacy, stress and anger management, parenting skills, life skills, and vocational training. Upon release from ACJ, the men were encouraged to seek support services from more than 60 community-based organizations.
