March 12, 2009 This report details the outcomes of Travis County Adult Probation's Community Impact Initiative. After a reform of the Travis County, Texas (which includes the city of Austin) adult probation department in 2006 and 2007, re-arrest rates dropped by about four percent. Probation revocations have also fallen. Overall, the state has saved about $4.8 million between 2005 and 2008 due the reforms which helped the state avoid re-incarcerating individuals violated the terms of their probation . . .
